2Corinthians 1:20 – For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. (NIV)

Now, you have anxiety.  You have lack of faith.  You have doubts.  But understand that these promises that we are going to cover are YES in Christ, no matter what.  When you say to yourself “Does He REALLY mean me?” then you can say “YES.  Because all of the promises God made are YES in Christ.”.

You might be tempted to “what if” and “yeah but”, but your doubts do not change His faithfulness.

Let me repeat that:  Your doubts have NO EFFECT on His faithfulness.

Just because YOU doubt, that does not mean that He cannot do what He promises.  Your doubts are not more powerful than Him.  Your doubts can make you miss the blessings He has for you, but it will not because the blessings are not there, it will be because you are not there (mentally, emotionally, sometimes physically) to take possession of them.  For example, the promise of wisdom is there according to James 1, if you do not doubt that He is faithful enough to give it.  If you doubt that He will give you wisdom then it is not that He is not capable of it, it is because you are choosing not to receive what He is offering.

How do you make sure you are there for the promises?  Just trust Him.  Obey Him.  He knows if you are really trying with your whole heart, mind, and strength, and if you are not.  He will bless your efforts, even if you do not get things perfect.  He is a kind and merciful God, dealing with His precious babies.  He knows that you will stumble, and He did not make promises only for perfect people (which, of course, there was only one of—Jesus).  He made them for you and me in our weakness and frailty.

Every single promise that God ever made is “Yes” in Christ, for you.  Just say “AMEN” to the glory of God!
